How to add a countdown to a website
The most reliable website countdown has one canonical target and a small responsive embed. You can publish that setup without maintaining timer code or recalculating timezone offsets.
01
Create the source countdown
Choose the event timezone before setting the date and time. Add a descriptive title and official destination so the public page remains useful outside the embed.
After publishing, keep the management link somewhere private. It lets you correct event details without replacing embeds already placed on other sites.
02
Place the iframe
Copy the embed code from the countdown share panel and paste it into an HTML or custom-code block. Use a full-width container and leave enough height for the timer at mobile widths.
Avoid placing multiple ticking embeds above the fold. One prominent countdown is easier to read and costs less browser work than several copies of the same timer.
03
Test the real page
Preview the published page on a phone and desktop, confirm the timezone label, and follow the countdown link. Test consent tools and restrictive content-security policies that may block third-party frames.
