How to add a countdown to a Notion page
A Notion embed is useful when a team or community checks the same workspace repeatedly. The countdown stays live inside the page while its public link remains available for reminders and sharing.
01
Publish the countdown
Create the event with the timezone used by the team and include enough description to distinguish it from nearby milestones. Leave internal or sensitive dates unlisted.
02
Embed it in Notion
Copy the public countdown URL, paste it into the Notion page, and choose the embed option. Resize the block so the full timer and target date remain visible on the narrowest page layout you use.
Place the timer near the project status or event details. A single maintained block is less likely to drift than copied date text across several pages.
03
Respect workspace privacy
Anyone who can load an embed may be able to open its source URL. Use unlisted visibility for team milestones and avoid putting confidential names or details in the countdown.
